Originally linked by the New Mexico and Arizona Railroad as cowtowns in the early 1880s, the Mountain Empire is located 45 miles southeast of Tucson. Situated between 4000-5000 feet, the elevation offers a climate that is distinctly different from the typical desert regions of the Southwest.
